Transport seals and safety - information from Fructus Transport
On the trailer of a transport vehicle, we often find transport seals. They mainly play the role of securing the contents of the trailer. Do they really affect transport safety?
What do the shipping seals look like?
You will find the transport seals on the truck's trailer. They usually come in the form of a ruler - plastic or metal - or a sticker. Each of them has its own unique numbers enabling quick identification. Therefore, even in the event of their breakage and replacement by the thief with others, this can be easily seen.
Theft protection
The transport seal is a guarantee that the goods in the trailer are unchanged and secured. It is a signal for the driver that the transport proceeds smoothly and safely.
A damaged seal is a signal that someone has interfered with or tried to interfere with the contents of the trailer.
How to apply a transport seal?
It depends on what type of shipping seal you choose. The rope should be threaded through the buckles, tensioner reels and holes on the tarpaulin. It must be taut and undamaged. Each seal should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations so as to prevent the door to the trailer from being opened without breaking it.
Remember the documents
Self-removal of the transport seal or the lack of documentation concerning it means that the driver will automatically initiate proceedings against it. Therefore, the driver must always ensure that he has documentation that allows him to verify the correctness of the transport.
